It's been a month away from home. Sometimes it's felt long. Like
when Alice threw up 7 times in three hours and I feared it would
spread through the small space of the camper like my gas after eating
wheat (sorry kids! Mommy just had a biscuit! Ughhhhh)
Sometimes it has felt short. Like when we visit family and I get to
spend time with a sister while the cousins play. Or spending time
catching up with a friend.
So far, here is how our trip has gone.
When we rolled into Atlanta I stayed the first night with my mom, then
spent the first week and a half with Christina- with one weekend at
lake Lanier and another weekend at a hotel north of Atlanta that had a
pool- but no hottub!?!?!
Mary Jane's 9th birthday was celebrated as well as
Faustina's(Christina's girl) 3rd birthday.
I also got to visit father Joseph 3 times that first week.
After leaving Christina's we headed to my in laws in Alabama. We
spent the last week or so of October with family in Alabama. The kids
got to know Sierra- their sweet cousin on daddy's side. And they got
to trick-or-treat with Kathy's kids.
We left Alabama in time to head back to Atlanta for jedidiahs
birthday. We got balloons and hiked out and let them fly into the low
clouds with sharpied messages on them.
Then we headed out towards Augusta and Rose's rural home. It's so
beautiful and serene- surrounded by fields and cows and trees. Her
kids are so much fun and my kids loved spending the first weekend of
November with them.
Then we headed back to Atlanta. I drove straight to Fr Joe's church,
parked behind the rectory, and plugged in. That night I got a nice
visit with him. We watched the player- some NBC show about crime and
betting. And the next morning I snuck out of the camper to mass and
then in for another visit with Fr Joe while he ate breakfast.
Now I am back at my mom's.
I have gotten used to driving the camper around everywhere. Fr Kevin
and I drove to Anniston to pick up my in laws car so I could have a
vehicle apart from the camper. But yesterday when we went to the park
I thought "I should bring the camper bc that way I'm prepared for
EVERYTHING!"
I've gotten so used to bringing my second house with me everywhere.
It's kind of nice actually!
But I miss the older two kids terribly. And I miss Chris bunches too.
We try to text or FaceTime everyday. But certain male children(ahem)
won't communicate very well. Turns out he more than just looks like
Fr Joe.
Henry wrapped up his first high school water polo season.
And Samantha wrapped up girls swim team with a trip to kingcos.
