The B meet competition on Thursday @ home had my kids improving times left and right. And MJ got to try her hand at 50 free for the first time. She went 40.35.
Halfway through the meet the parents put up relays against the coaches. One parent relay was incredible! They beat the coaches relay by a couple body lengths! Heath swam backstroke but probably should have swam freestyle like everyone else. The kids say his backstroke is faster though. Anastasiya is fast and precise. Adam is a big big polo keeper and I was surprised how exceedingly fast he was. Blake is small- and another surprisingly fast swimmer. Samantha says his event is the mile. She is getting tips for her 500 from him. His 100s in a long race usually hang around 55 seconds!
Henry swam the 'lost and found' relay at the end of the meet- tradition for 15 and over free relay at the last meet. He wore black sweatpants with rhinestones up the leg and a black Justin Beiber hoodie. His second leg he wore a bikini top. Towards the end of the relay swimmers started stalking the coaches and plotting ways to throw them in. The coaches seemed ready for this and gave in easily. Then there was a melee in the pool. It was a churning mess of kids. The lifeguards looked on while holding their buoys. It was a fun time. After multiple pushes in and traps set, the kids were ready to call it a night and we went home.
