Whole 30 days 9 & 10

Day 9 I was packing for our camping trip.
Our stickie-note packing game made quick work of loading the camper.  I just went with the standard camping list I posted to this blog back in October 2013- put each item on a stickie note and put the notes up on the molding. The kids would grab a note and fill the need and collect them.  Each kid got two m&m's for each note filled.  Totally not whole30 compliant.  But they can do whole30 when they are older to fix all the parenting mistakes I've made.
Dinner was a hasty salad made with leftover lunch items.  I was so hungry I didn't take a picture. We left right after dinner.  Some observation I was pleased with was the total lack of desire to eat the road trip snacks chris got.  In the past year or so I could eat a full meal and still be looking in the fridge or pantry 20 minutes later.  But now I truly feel satisfied.  I wasn't sitting there trying to play mind Games in order that I could withstand this huge temptation to eat cool ranch chips.it just simply didn't exist as a temptation.  I am getting enough real food at meals in able to feel satisfied-satiated.  So I feel like that whole 30
Friday was day10 and travel day.  We drove down the coast of Oregon and it was gorgeous!  I took some video so I could make an iMovie.  I was way unprepared for day10 food wise.  I had all the food I needed but it was unprepared and uncooked and in the fridge.
We stopped for gas sometime around 9.  And since we were in Oregon and I wasn't pumping(it's illegal to pump your own gas in the state of Oregon) I busied myself making breakfast.  I chopped up some apple sausage and peeled some sweet potato.  I burnt them all slightly(I always forget how fast gas can cook) then threw some cortido over it all.  I ate my stuff while the kids ate glazed store donuts and grapes- remember- they are doing their whole30 when they grow up.
We passed a gorgeous beach and had to turn around.  It was called battle rock for the big rock you could scale but also tunnel through.  The kids had a blast and I took more video.
I took over driving and drove through lunch.  I paid max with a second donut to follow my instructions completely.
Open the can of salmon.  Drain it in the toilet(he drained it in the potty training thing alice has- but whatever- I wasn't specific was i?).  Put it in a bowl.  Cut up half and avocado.  Put that in the bowl too. Take a handful of nuts.  Bowl.  Drizzle it all with olive oil.  Salt and pepper.  Top with sliced apples.
I ate it during straight portions of driving and it was yum and adequate.  The kids had sandwiches I think.
We arrived at the campground and the kids piled out and immediately started exploring.  I played tetherball with sam and Henry. The middle boys found a trail.  Little girls played on the playground and john stayed in the RV asleep- tired from his play at battle rock.

Dinner I sautéed a bunch of veggies.  The kids cooked veggie quesadillas and I grilled shrimp and had the shrimp and veggies over spinach.  Avocado, Sweet potato, and lime topping it.
We played wiffle ball after dinner.  The kid tidied the campsite and moved inside to tidy the camper.
Once they got cleaned up and changed they got to watch a movie.  Chris and alice and I went back to the master bedroom.  I got out the deep blue(doterra muscle rub) and the rock rub(rock tape muscle rub) and worked on his calves and hamstrings.  He has trouble with his legs on good days.  And on driving days it's much worse so I made sure to bring his stuff.
Alice threw a giant fit- she didn't like her pajamas.  It lasted quite awhile. At first I thought she was throwing a fit because she was tired and maybe slightly didn't care for the pajamas but was so tired she was HATING them.  I thought she would get tired enough she wouldn't care.  Nope. So off came the pajamas. She fell asleep pretty much immediately after that and some "Nanu" (nursing).
