It's a cute little RC guy. Imagine a smaller Segway without the stage, handles, or the rider.
It plugs into USB to charge.
It's remote control is an app on smart phone or tablet.
So no batteries to buy or change or dispose of. No smart parts easily broken. It is so hardy - it's gone full tilt down the stairs and I actually worried more for the stairs and walls than for Ollie.
We have devised games with Ollie and Alice. Alice likes to chase it and pick it up. So the funnest game to play is W-Ollie. You sit at one end of the hall with the remote. Alice is in the hallway. Ollie has to start beside you, reach the other end of the hallway, touch the wall, and return to you before alice picks him up. If Alice picks Ollie up- she gets a point. If Ollie makes a successful run without being picked up, you get the point. Game is played until winner reaches 5 points.
Another game is Meg-Ollie(also played with alice). Everyone playing has 2 minute turns. On your turn you have to try and run Ollie between Alice's legs. One point for each split- or "Meg". Game is played until everyone has an equal amount of turns and winner reaches 3.
