well, part of it anyhow. chris bought $10 in megamillions lottery tickets because the jackpot was up to $640 million.
one set of numbers won a small small sliver of the big pie. we had three matching numbers and our moneyball number matched.
so i marched in to kroger today and handed my ticket in so i could get the pay out- all $150 bucks worth.
i think it's about as much as i'd care to win. well, actually it wouldn't have been bad to get 4 numbers correct plus the moneyball. that pay out would have been $10,000. a nice round number. not so big as $640 million.
i read an article titled something like "why you don't want to win the lottery".
it was pretty sobering and somehow not too surprising. rates of divorice and bankruptcy are really high among lottery winners. that and friends and family pop up from out of nowhere to claim their "winnings"- freeloading, mooching, sponging.
so- i'm comfortable with my relatively meager winnings. my family tolerates me pretty well, my husband loves me adequately, i'm not bankrupt, and i'm not instantly popular.
