this time last year

this time last year we were wandering through rome- soaked to our knees, full of yummy food, enjoying our time together. we were taking pictures, making memories, and reminding ourselves why it all started in the first place.
i keep catching myself thinking back to italian spring days. when my day gets crazy(juggling the kids through the grocery store) or mundane(food prep or ironing) i jump back to skiing the dolomites. chris laughing in my ear. cruising along on the autostrade. and the yummy yummy super delicious food. the hand cut noodles in that little ristorante in assisi. that crazy yet impossibly delicious pizza in cortina. and the outrageously exquisite breakfast in firenze.
what a gift. i think i'll go wake chris up with a kiss and a 'thank you again for italy, babe.' too bad i won't have a plate of salome, spinaci cubes, and a croissant and a cup of cappuccino to share with him.
