where is the unplanned flower now?

this is what the unplanned sunflower is up to.


i almost cut it down when i was mowing because i figured it lived long enough. but the circle of life hadn't been completed yet. it may be old and wrinkled- it may not look like it used to, all beautiful and fresh- it's purpose has changed.
it still serves a purpose- old and wrinkled as it is. it's a more beautiful purpose, self giving and self sacrificing. because if it didn't die and dry up, it wouldn't be able to feed the papa goldfinch that visits multiple times a day.
