triathletes amung us UPDATED

we arrived at the intersection near our house just 5 minutes before 8 this morning. the text from christina said that mike would be coming through "8-ish". i was looking for a good parking space as i sat at the intersection and i saw someone resembling mike coming at us. i am glad christina described what they were wearing because everyone looks alike on bikes! i decided to turn and follow him at a safe distance in the car. there was a motorcycle in front of us. he hit a hill and we cheered. once he got to this intersection in the picture we lost him. you will see him behind the motorcycle- wearing all black with white bands around his thighs.

we drove back around to catch christina, who was starting 20 minutes after the first wave of girls. we decided that once there were quite a few girls coming through, max and samantha would walk up the street aways so they could let me know to get ready with the camera.
we were watching the cyclists pass- it's kind of hypnotic- and we had only counted 5 or 6 girls, when a cyclist up the hill waved to us.
IT'S AUNT CHRISTINA! i reached over in the seat to get the camera, i flipped it on and SNAP. would you believe i got her? i mean with the crazy delayed timing that all digital cameras come with, i was expecting blurred pavement. instead...i got blurred christina.

i keep checking my email to see when SI will get back to me on my application as a photographer. wonder why they haven't responded. :p
mike placed 1st in his age group.
christina placed 3rd in her's.

I told the kids that maybe we can cheer from the canoe one time- if that's allowed.
It was a good show.
And I'm certainly proud of you.
