we depart for home tomorrow. chris is packing the car as i type. when we return to town i have to head to the store and load up on pecan pie fixin's, vanilla ice cream fixin's and mashed potato fixin's. once, fr. kevin jokingly refered to mash potatoes as being the main course. suffice it to say, i kind of feel some pressure. so we are going to mass probably christmas day since i can't see the kids behaving at midnight mass on christmas eve after a long ride in the car. then after mass christmas day we will head to my parents for craziness. rose emailed and said to send "you have 11 siblings christmas must be crazy at your house!" pics. so after that we'll head home, sleep, then jump back in the car and head BACK to alabama and to hang out with chris' grandfather in birmingham. i had suggested maybe we stay in alabama all week. save on gas. save on nerves. but chris had to remind me that santa had stowed some presents at our house. aha! so we drive. and we listen to books on tape. and i nurse the baby as i lean over the carseat. and mary jane pleads to be "buckled" which we all know means unbuckled.
it's the MOST wonderful time of the year!
