fall is here! the air is chilly and crisp. the mornings require that extra layer that might or might not remain throughout the day. this morning i came downstairs and was thankful i had soaked the oats last night. eggs wouldn't have cut through the cold as well as a steaming bowl of porridge topped with walnuts and honey. and i'm finally getting to use all the knit stuff i worked on during the hot months of my pregnancy. all the work is paying off. i started the second leg of franky's pants. they are wool diaper covers and when i'm finished, i will post a picture. so, knitting and porridge- fall wear and fare. what about entertainment?
fall entertainment is all about being outside. camping, playing soccer, going on walks, going to festivals, and... GRASS SLEDDING! it's the funnest time you can have with a piece of cardboard and dead grass. we have done it for about three years now. i'm thinking i need to plan a big grass sledding picnic at piedmont park. the tough thing is, it's so dependant on the weather. with the wee ones, you don't want it too cold. and with grass sledding, you can't have even a little moisture- it wets the board and slows you down. last year the kids were getting brave and grassboarding- as on a snowboard but without snow. here are some pics of the kids and some friends from last years trip.
