oil slick bird rescue

this is the second time kite has accidently flown into a pan full of bacon grease.  i quickly snatched her up and had her washed in dish soap (like dawn) and now she is drying off. 
she recovered well last time, but this time is complicated by the fact that the grease was still a bit  hot.
but the sight of her looking so pathetic is just sad.
