we were eating out one night after gym family time. santa and mrs. claus were sitting at the table near us. they politely wished us a happy new year and continued eating. as we stood up to go santa complimented us on how well behaved the kids were.
"we have seen some nasty, NASTY children over the Christmas season. you wouldn't believe me if I told you. we tried so desperately to spread the Christmas spirit this past season and everywhere it was dead. keep them away from peer pressure. that's where it comes from."
i informed santa that it was our first year of homeschool and he said, "way to go! you keep it up! and keep saying grace before meals. that is a silent witness- a prayerful family."
so, santa is for homeschooling. and that's cool.

Right on Santa!
Those are the kinds of comments that make every second worth it, and what a nice complement to parents to notice how well their children behave - and the children hear it and are touched as well! On a side note, we went to 9:30 Mass on Christmas Eve and saw Santa and the missus. He was decked out in a sparkly red vest and looking very sharp. The kids thought it was wonderful that Santa would pause on the busiest night of the year and go to Mass and that Mrs. Claus wanted to share that time with him. ;-) Oh, and mine have never acted better in church!! LOL
