he's finally the age everyone thought he was when we were dating! :)
naturally, he has told me what he wants for his birthday would be for me to not buy anything. so i'm left to find something from around the house to modify and give. i was going to make him a shirt. a few birthdays ago i made him a t shirt that was black and said "drink local" on the front in appliqued white block letters. it was just an old white tshirt that I pinned to the underside of the bock shirt, sewed the shape of the letters, then cut away the black to reveal the white. so i found a plain red shirt. i immediatly had an idea. i would make the shirt say "usa curling" on the back and "whistler 2010" on the breast pocket area. then i remembered that pfapf was gone and broken singer and old kenmore were here.
i miss you pfaff!
but chris' parents are coming into town tonight and bringing a sewing machine with them. i still might be able to swing it.
before then, what we will all get for his birthday is a tree and a new vacuum. chris may be getting old. but he still has the wherewithal to not give me a vacuum for Christmas.

Thank goodness Chris is savvy enough not to give you a vacuum for Christmas. I laughed myself silly when I watched this video - speaks to that exact issue!http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Twivg7GkYts
I actually requested a vacuum for Christmas a couple of Christmases ago. Matt's folks hooked us up with a dyson
a dyson! now THAT is a vacuum i wouldn't mind getting as a Christmas present.
we got a dirt devil. it came down to this- "which one can I disassemble the easiest when it invariably clogs once one of the kids sucks up a piece of cellophane?".
