last night i had the most vivid dream. i was dreaming about our family about twenty years from now, coming together for dinner. all the names and details about each of our children seemed to be so real.
it started with me waking up next to you, but it didn't look like you at all. you were the only person in my dream who i actually knew. i went downstairs to a breakfast area and sat at the head of the table and was surrounded by people that i recognized, but i didn't know any of their names. they all called me dad, and eventually, through thier conversation, i learned most of their names. after i finished breakfast, i went downstairs afain to the wreck room with james and steven. james had just returned from france where he was studying abroud for his freshman year. he was just a little bit taller than me, but he was very thin. he was our only dark haired son. steven was in his junior year of high school. he was the best looking boy in the family, with golden blonde hair, a perfect smile, and a good build. we talked about hayden who had already moved out and was going to graduate soon. i also pictured julia while we were talking about hayden. she had long flowing brown hair and was very pretty. she reminded me of rose. she was just married and now living with her husband. james, steven, and i all talked about girls for awhile and it seemed like both of them had more maturity than i did. finally we went back upstairs where everyone was sitting at the table. i was at the head and you were at the foot of the table. this time i recognized that you had the same beautiful eyes that you did in your youth. sitting to your immediate right was our 4 year old daughter, i didn't know her name, but she had your eyes and my blonde hair. next to her was the middle of our three daughters, elizabeth. she was in eighte frade and she was talking to james, who was sitting on her right, about his experiences in france. to my right sat our three youngest sons, they all had blonde hair and the eldest with blue eyes and the other two with brown eyes. immediately to my right was the eldest of the three at age 11. he was definitly a soccer player because he was in uniform, bnbut i'm not too sure of his name. next to him was little christopher, age 9. he was sitting at the table in only his tighty-whities and playing with his food- probably up to no good. to his right was our youngest son. i'm not sure what his name was either, but he looked almost exactly like my cousin barret and he was 6 years old. and then it was back to you. i just described in detail what our family (minus hayden and jewels) looked like at the dinner table in about 30 years. it was the most vivid dream i've ever had. after i looked around the table, we bowed our heads and i said the prayer. after that we all began to eat. next thing i remember, i was listening to country music on the radio, "6 days on the road and i'm a gonna make home tonight."
by far that is the strangest thing i've experienced in my sleep ever. anyway, how is you day going so far today? is sean doing ok? what did you and hilary talk about last night? did you take your vitamins today? are you working tonight? i thought i'd bombard you with questions to take my mind off my wierd dream. i can't stop thinking about it. what's my problem? oh well. i guess i'll call you later tonight. i love you.
