george's shop

"mommy, when are we going to open my shop?"

"what shop is that?"

"my shop where i sell my drawings to make money."

"what are you going to do with the money?"

"put it in the jamaica jar."

the jamaica jar is our homeschool group's charitable venture for this year. the missionaries of the poor are building a crisis pregnancy center- to be called the holy innocents crisis center. it is going to support the pregnant women and young mothers of kingston, jamaica. they will have a daycare that will accept 200 children so single mothers can keep their jobs.
our homeschool group gave these jars out to let the kids know that every penny counts. they come running to me, "mom! mom! i found this penny in the washroom. can i put it in the jamaica jar?"

he spent the last few mornings at the table drawing. tomorrow he says that he'll help me scan the drawings in so people can buy them on the computer.

the blog will host the auction and bidding will start sometime tomorrow.
