george loves o2

he was having a hard time getting more of it- having to pause in the middle of short sentences for a breath. i could hear him breathing while he was sound asleep- and i was in another room!
chris took a few showers with him in the early morning hours of tuesday. then all of tuesday it became apparent to me that he'd only get worse after the sun went down. when he said "i can't wait until daddy comes home" i asked him why.
"because daddy," breath "makes me" breath "stop doin' dis"
i began to worry. after checking with margaret's office- she was being picked up at the airport by mom- i headed down to scottish rite, now children's. we never checked him in. he was in a much better condition by the time i had gotten down there. we instead met margaret at her office. she does a very good impersonation of dr. house. she just didn't have that british kid, the black doctor, or that cute white gal who writes on the dry erase board. but when it was quiet, i'm pretty sure i heard margaret thinking. we still don't really know what's going on with him.

symptoms-
fever
44 breaths per minute (at the office after two breathing treatments).
pulse/o2 at 97.
hoarse.
wheezing in and out.
pulse was 155.

we gave him another breathing treatment at the office. also some oral steriods and some motrin to bring his fever down. she prescribed more breathing treatment and some steriods. he's doing lots better. he slept well last night- despite the steroids. it was basically a replay of what happened when he was 18 months. except we didn't spend three days int he hospital.

I'm telling you you will never get a concrete answer as to whether this round was just a minor respiratory virus, or an asthma attack. And by the way, sats of 97 is great for anyone! I hope he's feeling better now.

that's what was confusing. i remember when this happened when he was 18 months they wouldn't let us go until his pulse/o2 level was above 90. he was hovering in the 70s.
today though, if i'm 30 minutes late with the breathing treatment it's pretty obvious he needs it.

i first noticed the node there when he first had this type of attack. i wonder if it had anything to do with this or maybe it was because he had a fresh new haircut that allowed me to see the node. hmmmm...
