Good Easter tidings!

We had a wonderful Easter Day. The weather was beautiful sunny and just the right amount of chill and warmth to make it a perfect spring day.
We had an Easter egg huntin the backyard. Along with plastic eggs filled with candy I also hid five Star Wars hot wheels cars. Four were found easily but an hour later the kids were still eagerly searching for the R2D2 car. They were still in their packages so not terribly hard to find.
Chris cooked bacon, biscuits, and eggs and we had orange juice and grapefruit slices for breakfast. We were aiming to get to 9:30 but it didn't pan out so we decided to kick back and have a leisurely morning and make the noon mass easy.
I played basketball with the younger kids then came in and braided Samantha's hair while the boys ironed their shirts. The littles took a bath after getting sappy climbing trees. I set the yeast rolls out to rise and then got into the shower then put on my new Easter skirt, top, and sweater. I bought a dress too but since alice nursed 3 times at good friday service I decided to make it easy on her and wear the nuraing friendly outfit. It's not a complete waste. I'm excited to be able to wear the dress on date with Chris.
So we got to church 20 minutes ahead and got a good parking space and a spot next to the musicians(this helps the younger kids behave).
After mass we headed home and I put the ham in to cook. Chris and I went to the gym while the older kids watched the youngers- well, everyone but Mary Jane. She wanted to come with us.
Mary Jane and I played volleyball with the beach ball at the pool while chris soaked in the hottub. His legs are still bothering him.
Back home and I found out my neighbor isn't coming over for dinner- she is a new great grandmother- again! So she went to see the new baby boy at the hospital. I made pea casserole and mashed potatoes. We ate around 4:30 and then had a simply beautiful evening. The boys chased bunnies trying to maim or kill them while the girls made horrific screaming wild non-hunting sounds. I would have stopped them had I not owned a semi-wild rabbit that we let lose in our backyard and known that near wild rabbits are impossible to catch. I figured there was no way they'd get any of the bunnies- plus, they should sleep well tonight.
After the sun went down another round of baths occurred along with kitchen duty. Chris and I put john and alice in the "two-stroller" I just bought on offer-up and went for a walk. I'd never walked after dark with alice before and she was fretful until we distracted her with stargazing and airplane spotting.
I miss my extended family on days like this but I am starting to feel at home here. It's so beautiful and my own family is growing in love and grace and we are reaping abundant blessings. I'm thankful for all God has done for us this year.
