We got discount passes (photo IDs included here) through Chris's work and skied steven's pass last night.
We liked how close to the slopes our camper was and the kids liked the trick park. Frankie, on only her second time skiing was very daring. She went through the bike trails and over a wooden bridge then she headed to the trick park. She pointed to the big box- "I want to jump off that". I was about to say - "no- you'll get hurt!" But she is so tiny-she doesn't build up enough speed to get hurt too bad. Plus- she had surprised me a bunch over the last few hours so I said "ok!".
She aimed right for it and the ramp of snow led her up and onto a long wide box. Just as she looked like she was going to ski off the left side of the box and fall the box ended and she landed with a bump on the other side. I saw her little helmet skiing away and shook my head and sighed with relief. Of course then I had to do it too. Can't let a 6 year old make me look too scared. Surprisingly I kept my feet. She actually took her skis off and was going to hike back up and around the park. I asked her what she was doing and she said "the lift takes SO long! And I just want to do the trick park!"
Max caught some big air on one of the snow ramps. He's getting pretty good on his snowboard.
I think another favorite was the tow rope lift. It's going at a pretty good clip. If you grab tight onto it from a stand still you will fall down. You either have to be already going a bit or you have to slowly tighten your grip on it.
